Primary focus is on Oracle XML/BI
Publisher & PeopleSoft Enterprise
How I can contribute to the NorCal OAUG:
I would like to spearhead a section
within the NorCal OAUG that focuses on Oracle XML/BI Publisher. I would
also like to see the NorCal OAUG begin to serve the PeopleSoft community in
Northern California as well. I would be willing to agressively
promote this area for NorCal OAUG. I think that it would be a benefit
to NorCal OAUG with additional members and giving NorCal OAUG an ability to
serve a greater Oracle community. The company that I work for regularly
conducts IT roundtables and seminars throughout the regions that we
serve. We frequently hear compaints of the
level of PeopleSoft regional user group involvement in the area.

Oracle Consulting Practice Manager, EBS OCP, Oracle
Affiliation: Non-User
Experience:
I have been working with Oracle EBS
applications as an Oracle employee for over 12 years. Within that time frame,
I have filled several roles within the EBS space including FND/AOL/ATG phone
support analyst, field support engineer, NAC consultant, Project Management
Office lead, Technical Quality Assurance expert and manager of an Apps DBA
practice. Therefore, I have seen the EBS evolution from 10.7 Character mode all the way through the current R12 releases. In
addition to all of this, I have been involved at a technical capacity with
every Oracle technology imaginable that supports, compliments or is commonly
deployed alongside the EBS stack. Within the past couple of years, I have
become very involved with OOW and OAUG communities to support and promote EBS
awareness across the board. I have presented at the SROUAG conference twice
with Deep Ram (one of which was at a keynote capacity) and recently
presented/participated at the NorCal OAUG conference. In closing, I would
like to add that although I currently fill a consulting manager role, I have
a current EBS OCP designation and interact with clients, support,
development, sales and consultants to provide EBS functional/technical
leadership on a daily basis.
How I can contribute to the NorCal OAUG:
I am truly honored to receive this
invitation for a second year in a row and hope to add continued value and
support through my involvement. I am very dedicated to OAUG (internal/external)
communities and view this as the best way to move from NorCal OAUG
contributor to true leader within this space. I perform all of the required
activities on a daily basis and have actually coordinated these types of
tasks internally, including developing a newsletter, creating the Center Of
Excellence (COE) around R12, aligning resource to present at
OAUG/Collaborate/OOW events and motivating others to share knowledge on a
robust forum I created from scratch. Therefore, I feel that this role would
be a perfect fit. My intent is to assist at any capacity required. Given that
I work directly for Oracle and have developed quite a large network
throughout my 12+ year tenure, I feel that I could strengthen ties to various
Oracle internal channels. My involvement with various OAUG organizations have
also given me insight into what does and does not work, so I hope to bring
fresh ideas and strong leadership in strengthening the level of group
activity and further enhancing event cohesiveness. I would also like to add
that during this past year I have expanded my horizons to include in depth
involvement in partnering with and facilitating the integration of recent
acquisitions (Sun, Golden Gate, Silver Creek, etc.), an activity that has
helped me tremendously in maintaining a current network that could be tapped
into, in order to promote NorCal OAUG participation. Within Oracle I provide
leadership and take a systematic approach to getting programs off the ground,
that require part time involvement of already burdened resources. Each
program that I have put in place has shown staying power, innovative thinking, addresses gaps in current methods and are
engineered to become self sufficient in the long run. I would apply those
lessons learned to address any gaps currently affecting NorCal OAUG, enhance
the overall quality of the community and drive solutions that will take
NorCal OAUG to the next level. Why choose me? I am a highly motivated
individual that works well with others, understands functional/technical
concepts, can be relied upon to lead efforts without supervision, have been
living Oracle for over a decade and can assist in maintaining NorCal OAUG
internal/externally facing components.

How I can contribute to the NorCal OAUG:

Vice President, EPM and BI
Practice Leader, P3 Solutions, Inc.
Affiliation: Non-User
Experience:
I have been involved with Oracle
Applications , EPM and BI for the past 17 years with a broad range of
experience in business processes and best practices. I am also a charter
member of the OAUG - GL Special Interest Group, and have been involved with
the NorCal OAUG for 8 years, serving as a Board Member for the past 4 years.
During the past 3 years, Ive led both the
Oracle EPM/Hyperion and OBIEE Panel events, and coordinated the BI/EPM Tracks
for our Annual Training including finding some great speakers for our group.
I am also involved at the national level of the OAUG in the Hyperion Special
Interest Group where I coordinate the Hyperion User Groups including the
recent, re-vitalization of our local Hyperion User Group for Northern
California.
How I can contribute to the NorCal OAUG:
#1. Fund the Training Day As a NorCal OAUG Board Member, my primary responsibilities
include soliciting Vendor Sponsors and finding New Vendors to sponsor booths,
presentations and prizes to fund the Annual Training Day Activities. Many of
these New Vendors came by representing the NorCal OAUG at both the OAUG and
Oracle Open World Events, walking the halls and meeting many of the
exhibitors. Many others were gleaned through my professional contacts and
relationships. Last year, these efforts made a significant contribution to
our Training Day expenses. This is an area where I would like to continue to
manage and expand. This is an area where I would like to continue to manage
and expand.
#2. Have more Panel Events I also intend to continue
hosting more Panel Events focused on both Oracle EPM/Hyperion and OBIEE. I
will dedicate the time needed to bring great speakers, secure nice
facilities, and find sponsorships to fund refreshments and prizes. I really
believe these events are a great venue to bring our user community together
for new ideas, networking, and fun.
#3. Build our Membership Early last year, I started
and now manage the Linkedin Group for the NorCal
OAUG. I would like to continue building our on-line Social Networking
capabilities including our most recent launch of a Twitter account
(@norcaloaug) as we find new ways to build our user community. I also think
we need to put more Social time back into our events, too, something I will
pledge to work on closely with the other Board Members.
