The NorCal OAUG
was awarded a GEO Certificate of Distinction by the OAUG Board for the seventh
consecutive year! Thank you to all of the Members, Suppliers/Exhibitors
and Board Members for enabling the organization to achieve this recognition!
The NorCalOAUG is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of 6 individuals elected from among the group's membership. Three board member positions come up for election every year. The term for a board member is 2 years.
The charter of the NorCalOAUG outlines the following positions which may be filled by members of the Board. Current office holders are listed next to those positions which have been filled. Responsibilities of the unfilled positions will be addressed by the Board as a group.
All board members will participate in Seminars held every two months, and in the annual Training Day.
The Chairperson is responsible for developing and implementing by-laws for the group in accordance with national, regional or state requirements. In this capacity, they are expected to follow all OAUG Policies and Procedures and ensure that the group maintains their good standing with the OAUG. Additionally, the Chairperson is responsible for developing volunteers for the group as well as general group administration and maintenance.
The Treasurer is responsible for the receipt, maintenance, and disbursement of all funds of the group.
The Secretary is responsible for recording and documenting information discussed and decided upon at all meetings, publishing meeting minutes, managing the action item list, and maintaining all other documents.
The Web Master is responsible for email blasts and maintenance of the web site.
The Meeting Planner is responsible for the scheduling, planning, and coordination of all meetings and other scheduled activities such as conference calls. This includes semiannual meetings and meetings at OAUG conferences, and more frequent regional meetings.

To
those seeking Board nomination and election to the NorCal
OAUG Board:
It is always a great encouragement to see the number of folks that want to
participate in the Northern California OAUG, especially those that express a
desire to help serve our membership by becoming a Board member.
Due to the response of those that have submitted their name as a nominee in the upcoming election process, we felt that it was necessary to reiterate the requirements of service and update the By-Laws.
The key feature that has been added to the NorCal OAUG By-Laws is the requirement that Board member either live or work within the Northern California region. Most members would agree that it is important that their Board be represented by those that live/work within the same geographic location as the membership that they represent.
If you have submitted your name as a potential Board candidate and do not meet this, or any other Board requirement, please email the Board and let them know that you need to have your name removed from the upcoming ballot.
Again, it is in the best interest of our membership that these basic requirements exist for our organization. We certainly appreciate everyone’s participation, especially those that have put their name forward as willing to serve the membership.
Thank
you,
Carl Harter
Chairman, NorCal OAUG Board
